Q.: What is the Model Schools Program?
A.: A series staff development opportunities for technology integration, including
Guidance and Career Exploration Services.
Q.: What are the Model Schools Program options?
A.: There are several options that school districts can subscribe to: Shared Learning
Objectives, the Model Schools Workshop option, On-site Training, NERIC Centralized
Training and Technology Planning.
Q.: What is the minimum service a district must subscribe to for
hardware and software aid?
A.: Shared Learning Objectives (SLO)
Q.: What are the benefits of SLO?
A.: Districts submit projects that can be accessed on-line by the other districts to share
in the curriculum work of others. Year long support is provided to the districts by NERIC
staff. Call 518-456-9245 and ask for an Instructional Coordinator.
Q.: What are some courses offered under the Model Schools Workshop
option?
A.: ClarisWorks for Visual Aids, Spreadsheets in the Middle School Classroom,
PowerPoint and the Classroom, and Saving HyperStudio Stacks as Web Pages are
just a few of the titles.

A.: Districts that subscribe to the service offer the sessions in their buildings.
Q.: Who are the Model Schools instructors?
A.: Content area specialists from school districts teach their peers to incorporate
technology to meet curriculum requirements in alignment with the NYS Learning Standards.

Janover, Sue Ellen Powell, Penny Roberts or Kim Greiner). We can teach you to use the
hardware and software in your district to its fullest potential.
