FAQ

Why am I unable to transfer a second incoming call from my Cisco IP Phone?

Many of the issues with transfer are related to the default behavior of the IP phones being set with Call Waiting set to ON.   If you would like this feature to be disable, contact Phone Help.

How do I use Call Pickup?

Call Pickup allows you to pick up incoming calls within your own group. A group in this case is any organization of Cisco IP Phone extensions, as defined by your system administrator.

When an incoming call is received on an extension that belongs to the same group as that of your Cisco IP phone, you can answer that call by completing these steps:

1.   Go offhook on any line that has a Call Pickup group associated with it.

2.   Press the More softkey and then the Pickup softkey.

3.   Press the Answer softkey.

How to Pick Up Calls that Belong to Another Group

Group Call Pickup allows you to answer incoming calls that ring on a Cisco IP phone that belongs to a pickup group other than your own. To use this feature you must know the pickup group number to which the ringing phone belongs.

When an incoming call is received on an extension that belongs to a different group than that of your IP phone, you can answer that call by completing these steps:

1.   Go offhook on any available line appearance.

2.   Press the More softkey and then the GPickup softkey.

3.   Dial the Group Call Pickup number.

4.   Press the Answer softkey.

Why do I not get a dialtone after dialing a 9 or other access code?

When making calls to external numbers, Cisco CallManager is configured to provide outside dialtone after an initial access code is dialed. Because of the many locations programmed, there is an overlap in the dial plan configured on the CallManager. Cisco CallManager will wait until the pattern is unique enough before playing the outside dialtone.
